FutureSky Aerial Technologies was created to meet a growing reality: modern drone operations demand far more than basic certification. Born from real‑world public safety experience, FutureSky brings together advanced training, mission‑ready operations, and professional‑grade UAS sales and solutions designed for those who operate where performance and accountability matter most. Our approach is grounded in practical application—preparing pilots and teams to deploy confidently, adapt quickly, and deliver actionable results in complex environments.
From comprehensive training and program development to enterprise UAS sales, services and equipment support, FutureSky bridges the gap between regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Whether supporting first responders, public agencies, construction or industry companies, we focus on building capability that extends beyond checklists—creating skilled professionals, scalable programs, and reliable aerial solutions that perform when it matters most.
FutureSky Aerial Technologies was founded with a simple but powerful purpose: to move unmanned aircraft systems beyond basic certification and transform them into dependable, professional grade resources for those who serve the public. From the outset, FutureSky has been grounded in public service, mission ready operations, and the belief that true capability is defined by meaningful training—not just regulatory compliance.
Our focus has always been operational readiness: preparing pilots and teams not merely to fly, but to perform confidently and safely in real world environments where accuracy, judgment, and professionalism matter most.
The FutureSky journey began in 2020, when founder Dan Singley attended a large, cross industry drone exposition. As he moved through the event, a clear pattern emerged. Public safety professionals focused on one area, utilities on another, and mapping and inspection specialists elsewhere—each siloed by mission type.
Yet Dan recognized something critical that many overlooked: the aircraft themselves were largely the same. What differentiated success was not the drone, but the payloads, the data collected, and—most importantly—the way operators were trained to use them.
This realization sparked a pivotal idea: What if volunteer emergency responders could be trained across the full spectrum of UAS operations, rather than confined to a single use case?
Working alongside the Northshore Emergency Management Coalition (NEMCo) and its volunteer corps, Dan establish a volunteer UAS program designed to support first responders, cities, and utility agencies with aerial resources. From day one, the mission was clear—train for real operations, not theoretical ones.
As demand grew across police, fire, city, and utility partners, the training framework expanded to emphasize hands on application. Volunteers learned to deploy drones during active incidents, assess risk, manage airspace, and deliver actionable data—all while maintaining professional discipline and safety standards. The program quickly demonstrated its value, proving that well trained all-volunteer UAS teams could significantly enhance public safety and civic operations.
In early 2024, Ron Henson joined the program, bringing deep experience from a seasoned pilot’s perspective. Together, Dan and Ron re-engineered the training model to mirror FAA pilot style standards—introducing an accountability driven system that evaluates pilots on specific airframes and endorses mission critical skills. This approach moved far beyond the traditional Part 107 academic testing model, establishing operational standards agencies could trust and pilots could grow within.
A defining moment came during a training class when a student asked a simple but powerful question: “What happens after we pass our Part 107—do we just wait until we’re deployed?”
That question exposed a major gap in the UAS industry. Upon reviewing training programs worldwide, Dan and Ron found that most stopped at regulatory compliance. Very few moved beyond to address practical training, qualification and how drones actually behave in complex, high risk environments.
FutureSky Aerial Technologies was born from that gap.
In 2025, FutureSky officially launched, with its first major project providing aerial resources at Concorso Italiano and expanding its fleet of aircraft to serve external agencies and commercial clients while continuing to advance its training programs. Growth followed quickly. Today, FutureSky delivers UAS program development, pilot training, drone and equipment sales, and advanced operational instruction with National qualification and endorsement standards for first responders, construction firms, public works departments, and industrial organizations nationwide.
Everything we do is guided by one principle: operational readiness matters. Our mission remains unchanged—to ensure every UAS team, pilot, agency, and organization we support is prepared not just to fly, but to operate safely, professionally, and effectively. It's what we call Mission-Ready from day one.
